Ana sayfa / News

Wearable technology, especially smartwatches, continues to evolve with innovative features that enhance both entertainment and health aspects. Apple’s developments have significantly advanced the capabilities of Apple Watch models. We’ve seen the Apple Watch save lives before, and now it has done so again, using its ECG feature to help a pregnant woman and her baby. Here are the details…

The Apple Watch, known for saving lives and its health features, has once again proven its worth. Rachel Manalo, a pregnant woman, discovered a serious health issue with her heart thanks to the ECG (Electrocardiogram) feature on her Apple Watch.

At 18 weeks pregnant, Manalo felt her heart racing at a high rate and noted that these symptoms had persisted for weeks. After experiencing these symptoms, she decided to use the ECG feature on her Apple Watch to measure her heart’s electrical activity.

New Health Sensors: Expected Features of Apple Watch Series 10!

Apple Watch Series 10, anticipated to be introduced by Apple, is expected to feature new and attention-grabbing capabilities.

The Apple Watch provided a “non-definitive” result, showing that her heart was beating at 150 bpm for over 40 minutes. The ECG app advised her to visit a doctor, who subsequently diagnosed her with ventricular tachycardia (a condition where the heart beats very rapidly in a disorganized manner rather than a regular rhythm).

Manalo described her experience: “I was feeling tired and short of breath. I clicked on the ECG function on my watch and then placed my arm on the table after putting my finger on the button.” The doctor noted that such heart issues could lead to a heart attack if left untreated and were even riskier due to her pregnancy.

Although the Apple Watch is not a substitute for medical examinations, its health features can provide useful insights. What do you think about this? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments.
