Apple introduced two new Apple Watch models alongside the iPhone 15 series at its event last week on September 12th. While Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 were discussed in detail during the event, their battery capacities were not disclosed at the time. Now, the battery capacities of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 models have surfaced in the legal database.
Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 battery capacities
According to the database that provides only Apple model numbers instead of product names, it appears that the 41 mm and 45 mm Apple Watch Series 9 models are equipped with 282 mAh and 308 mAh batteries, respectively. These capacities remain unchanged when compared to equivalent Apple Watch Series 8 models. Apple had also mentioned that the Series 9 models have the same 18-hour battery life as the Series 8 models.
When it comes to the Apple Watch Ultra 2, it is equipped with a 564 mAh battery, which is approximately 4% larger than the 542 mAh battery in the original Apple Watch Ultra. However, Apple claims that the Ultra 2 has the same 36-hour battery life as the original Ultra model, possibly due to having a brighter display and other new features.
Here are the battery capacities listed in the database for the Apple Watch models:
Apple Watch | Battery Capacity |
---|---|
Apple Watch Series 9 (41mm) | 282 mAh |
Apple Watch Series 8 (41mm) | 282 mAh |
Apple Watch Series 9 (45mm) | 308 mAh |
Apple Watch Series 8 (45mm) | 308 mAh |
Apple Watch Ultra 2 | 564 mAh |
Apple Watch Ultra | 542 mAh |
Both the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 come with new features, including brighter displays, a faster S9 processor, a new ‘Double Tap’ gesture for interacting with the watch without touching the screen, and more. You can pre-order both new models on September 22nd. They will be available in stores starting on September 29th, and customers will start receiving their orders.
