Apple will develop the new iPhone together with Samsung!

Ana sayfa / Smartphones

In addition to being one of the world’s largest technology giants and smartphone manufacturers, Samsung is also among the most powerful OLED display manufacturers globally. The US-based technology and information giant Apple seems to have officially agreed with Samsung for the production of the new generation iPhone SE. Here are the details and what you need to know…

Apple to Source iPhone SE 4 Display from Samsung!

The display department of the South Korean tech giant Samsung has joined the OLED screen suppliers for the fourth-generation iPhone SE model, planned to be released in the first half of 2025. This development marks a first for the iPhone SE series, as all previous models were launched with LCD screens. The new model will come with both an OLED display and Samsung’s patent.

According to information from Hankooki Daily, Apple appears to be diversifying its screen suppliers. The inclusion of Samsung Display in addition to Chinese BOE and South Korean LG Display has been interpreted as part of Apple’s strategy to secure its production capacity. Of course, reducing production costs for different regions is also among the company’s top priorities…

Apple’s strategy to reduce its dependency on Samsung has been a notable development in recent years. Although the company has preferred to rely on LG Display for premium segment iPhones and BOE for standard models, it seems that there has been a change in these plans with the new iPhone SE.

While BOE is expected to take the largest share of iPhone SE 4 production, it is said that the share of Samsung Display in the project has not yet been finalized. The fact that Apple is using OLED panels from both LG Display and Samsung Display in its first OLED iPad is another example of the company’s multi-supplier strategy.

This collaboration is expected to have significant effects on the smartphone market. The widespread adoption of OLED screens, especially in the mid-range smartphone market, could encourage other manufacturers to take similar steps. This would also mean a more profitable fiscal year for Samsung.
