Apple is bringing new models of its beloved series!
The Magic series, the last products in Apple’s accessory family to feature the Lightning port, has finally decided to keep up with the modern age. According to software developer Aaron Perris, references to USB-C versions of these three products were found in the macOS Sequoia 15.1 RC version codes.
This update, which was expected to be announced at last year’s October Mac event but was delayed, will likely be limited to just changing the port. However, users are particularly hoping for the charging port on the bottom of the Magic Mouse to be moved to a more practical position. After all, as 2024 draws to a close, it’s becoming increasingly unacceptable that the device cannot be used while charging.
This change is driven by the European Union’s regulation requiring all keyboards and mice to feature USB-C ports by the end of 2024. Apple initiated this process a few months ago by releasing AirPods Max with a USB-C port and new color options.
Industry experts believe that the revamped Magic series could be announced alongside the M4 chip-powered iMac, Mac mini, and MacBook Pro models, which are expected to be revealed at the end of this month. macOS 15.1, which is set to launch on October 28 along with the iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 updates, will also feature Apple Intelligence support.
