Apple has come under fire recently for allowing fake apps on the App Store. Moreover, it’s been reported that many people have been scammed due to this fake app.
Attention to the Fake Crypto Wallet App on the App Store!
In recent days, a copycat version of the popular password manager LastPass and a beloved movie streaming app were released on the App Store for fraudulent purposes. While many people were deceived by these apps, the company faced serious criticism for it. According to the latest developments, the tech giant has once again sparked outrage by allowing another fake app to be published.
A fake application for the popular cryptocurrency service Rabby Wallet has been released on the App Store. It was revealed that this app, named “Rabby Wallet & Crypto Solution,” passed through Apple’s approval process, although how it managed to do so remains unclear.
It is said that many people have been scammed because of this fake app, which has reportedly been present on the App Store for years and has not been removed despite complaints. In fact, a user who created a request on Apple’s official support page claimed to have been scammed out of $5,000. Some users have indicated that they will file a complaint against the tech giant.
There is another significant detail related to this issue that has garnered considerable criticism. The developer of Rabby Wallet, DeBank Global Pte. Ltd., announced that the genuine app is still undergoing the App Store review process. This means that there is no real app to rival the fake one.
Apple Accused of Intentionally Allowing It
Various sources allege that Apple intentionally approved these fake apps. What is the basis for this claim? As you may know, the tech giant was required to allow third-party app stores under the European Union’s Digital Markets Act. The company had insisted that such a step would pose security and privacy concerns.
It is then claimed that Apple allowed these fake apps to justify itself. Of course, we are not saying this.
