Apple’s OLED MacBook Pro is dead for now

Ana sayfa / Computers

Apple’s MacBook Pro models with OLED displays will be delayed for a while longer. According to the latest analyst estimates, the tech giant will continue to use mini-LED displays instead of OLED on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros it will launch in 2025.

Both Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities and display analyst Ross Young have said that Apple will opt for mini-LED in the 2025 MacBook Pro models. This confirms that the transition to OLED will be possible in 2026 at the earliest.

OLED displays offer higher contrast, improved brightness, lower power consumption and a thinner design than mini-LEDs. However, Apple believes that mini-LED technology is not yet capable of producing enough to replace it.

Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3 coming in 2025

Apple Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3 will be introduced in 2025. Breaking with the norm, the company stopped announcing new models every year.

The tech giant, which does not want to deal with stock problems, will continue to use mini-LED on the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros it will offer next year. In this context, we think that the designs of the new devices to be introduced in the coming months will not change.

However, Apple is expected to make some upgrades on the performance side. It may bring the M4, M4 Pro and M4 Max processors to the MacBook Pro family.

The MacBook Pro with M3 Max was up to 2.5 times faster than the 16-inch MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip and up to 11 times faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro. This performance increase is expected to continue with the M4 family.
