Apple’s Big Plans for the New iPhone Series: iPhone 17 Air Is Coming!
Apple is planning to introduce a new Air model with the iPhone 17 series, featuring a thin and lightweight design. Mark Gurman indicates that Apple does not plan to make major changes in the iPhone 16 series compared to previous models.
This means that the core features we saw in the iPhone 15 series will likely carry over to the iPhone 16 series. There are not expected to be significant innovations in design, screen sizes, or other hardware features. It seems Apple will focus more on optimizing and improving existing features in this series.
However, the real innovation is expected to come with the iPhone 17 series, set to be released in 2025. Gurman reports that Apple is planning to introduce an entirely new iPhone 17 Air model in this series. This new model will be positioned between the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro and, as the name suggests, will feature a thin and lightweight design. It’s noted that Apple aims to make this model more popular than the iPhone 12/13 mini and iPhone 14/15/16 Plus models.
According to Gurman, Apple also plans to integrate the high performance of the Pro models into smaller devices. However, achieving this goal may take some time, with this innovation potentially occurring as early as 2027.
Another interesting piece of information about the iPhone 17 series concerns the iPhone SE 4. Gurman states that the iPhone SE 4 will have a design similar to the iPhone 14 and will come with Apple Intelligence support. The introduction of the iPhone 17 Air model and the integration of Pro performance into smaller devices reveal Apple’s plans to make the iPhone series appeal to a broader user base.
