AQUON One: The yacht that never needs to refuel

Ana sayfa / Technology

As fossil fuels make way for alternative energy sources, renewable energy is gaining traction, and transportation is evolving. Electric cars and planes are becoming more common, and now marine vehicles are sailing towards electric power too.

Sailing into a cleaner, greener future with endless range and renewable energy

AQUON One showcases the potential of renewable energy in the maritime industry. This sustainable yacht, part of Zurich-based Swiss Sustainable Yachts AG, combines solar panels and hydrogen fuel cells for unlimited range, while merging Swiss engineering, Spanish naval architecture, and Italian design.

AQUON One is a zero-emission yacht that utilizes cutting-edge technology. It can travel without refueling, potentially revolutionizing the maritime sector. The yacht’s solar panels power electric motors and charge lithium-ion batteries. Excess energy is used to convert desalinated seawater into hydrogen gas, stored in carbon tanks on the ship.

When needed, fuel cells transform hydrogen back into electricity, providing additional power and incredible sustainability. With fully charged batteries and hydrogen tanks, AQUON One offers up to 3 days of non-stop travel at a maximum speed of 29.6 km/h (16 knots).

As climate change and environmental pollution become pressing concerns, sustainability is crucial. Share your thoughts on the zero-emission AQUON One in the comments section below.
