Arlo security cameras get AI boost with fire alerts and smart tracking

Ana sayfa / News

Arlo is taking home surveillance up a notch. The company has unveiled a new AI-powered security camera lineup that includes features like fire detection, open-door alerts, and even person tracking. With a mix of indoor and outdoor models, these cameras aim to add intelligence, not just footage, to your security system.

At the heart of the new lineup is the Essential 3, which brings advanced alerts through Arlo’s AI system. It can identify known people, vehicles, animals, and even packages, but it doesn’t stop there. The system is also trained to detect if your garage door is left open or if it senses fire activity, a rare and ambitious feature in consumer-grade security gear.

These smarter alerts are part of Arlo’s subscription-based service, so you’ll need to pay to unlock their full potential.

Starlink to open retail store, offers $115K for manager role

Starlink is opening its first retail store, hiring a manager at up to $115K to lead dish sales and satellite Internet adoption in-person.

There’s plenty of hardware variety in the refreshed lineup. Arlo launched five new models: two for indoor and three for outdoor use.

While the hardware is affordable, the more impressive features, AI alerts, smart detection, and object tracking, are locked behind a paid plan. Without it, these cameras function more like traditional motion sensors with basic notifications.

Arlo’s new lineup isn’t just about sharper video or bigger batteries; it’s about making cameras think. With the ability to detect fire, track movement, and flag open doors, Arlo is pushing its security cameras beyond the passive role they’ve played for years.
