The US National Aeronautics and Space Agency NASA has given bad news for the Artemis II mission, which will once again set foot on the Moon. According to the statement made by the agency, the Artemis 2 mission will not be at the end of 2024. So, when will the mission be? Here are the details!
Artemis 2 mission postponed to September 2025!
The US National Aeronautics and Space Agency NASA was planning to launch the Artemis 2 mission this year. However, according to the statement made by the agency, it was postponed to September 2025. In addition, the Artemis III mission will be carried out a year later, in September 2026.
The reason for this postponement is that NASA allegedly wants to give commercial partners like SpaceX more time to develop their technologies. The agency also officially announced the astronauts who will go to the Moon on the Artemis 2 mission in recent months.
They include Victor Glover, Reid Wiseman, Jeremy Hansen and Christina Hammock Koch. The team will orbit the Moon. They will then spend 21 days in the Orion capsule before landing in the Pacific Ocean.
Previously, the Artemis 2 mission came to the fore with the outfits the astronauts will wear. The agency aims to protect the astronauts with a space suit by Axiom Space. In this context, an outfit worth 228 million dollars is being designed for astronauts.
