Artificial intelligence is coming to Microsoft Photos

Ana sayfa / News

Microsoft is testing a new AI-powered feature in the Photos app to help Windows 11 users more easily manage the clutter in their image libraries. This feature will be available to all Windows 11 Insiders on Copilot Plus PCs.

The new system can automatically recognize images like invoices, screenshots, ID documents, and handwritten notes and place them in their own folders. Microsoft states that the text in the images will not be an obstacle to creating these categories in the Photos app. For example, a photo of your Hungarian passport will be automatically added to the relevant folder along with other ID documents.

Users can view these folders created by the Photos app from the Categories section in the left navigation bar. Currently, the app only recognizes screenshots, invoices, ID documents, and notes. However, allowing users to set their own category preferences could make the app even more useful in the future.
