With the development of the mobile industry, there has been a great increase in the number of malware that threatens user security. Hackers, who keep an eye on people’s hard-earned money and personal information, continue to come up with new methods that make us give up.
New mobile applications that contain malware (trojans) are added daily. In three apps on the Google Play Store, a trojan called XploitSPY was detected. Experts recommend removing this software from installed devices without delay.
Trojan detected in three Android applications
According to the information shared by researchers at the cyber security software company ESET, a trojan named XploitSPY was detected in three applications listed on the Google Play Store. It is stated that this malware hides in these three applications that function as messaging, capture personal information on the installed device, and even access bank applications.
Here are three Android applications that contain trojans:
- Dink Messenger
- Sim Info
- Defcom
By 2024, we carry all our important data on our smartphones, and therefore, we need to be careful with every application we download. Unfortunately, in some cases, software containing trojans can pass through Google Play Store and App Store controls and threaten user security.
Even though the above applications have been removed from the Google Play Store, they still pose a major threat to the devices on which they were previously installed. If you have previously installed these applications on your phone or tablet, you should remove them immediately.
