In 2024, when digital transformation continues rapidly, user data is under constant threat. Unfortunately, the things we can do about this are limited to the fingers of one hand. So, what are the situations for smartphones, which are indispensable in our daily lives? For example, are Apple’s iPhone models, one of the world’s best-selling brands, reliable? Recent research reveals that a new data leakage method has been discovered in iPhone models.
It was revealed that data was leaked from iPhones via push notifications – iPhone data leak
The latest report shared by security researcher Tommy Mysk revealed that world-famous applications, including TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Bing, leak data from iPhones through notifications.
These applications benefit from a feature introduced with iOS 10 that allows the customization of push notifications. In this way, even if the applications are closed, due to this vulnerability, they are active in the background for a short time and can collect user data by using the background execution time.
As it is known, Apple is known as a strict company regarding background application activities, and in most cases, it leaves the final decision to the users, allowing them to take control over application activities and access. However, with the latest development, it seems that the above-mentioned applications exceed these restrictions of the brand and open the door to the leakage of user data.
So what do you think about this issue? Which do you think is the most reliable smartphone on the market right now? Don’t forget to share your opinions with us in the comments section!
