Audi’s long-awaited new electric vehicle, the Audi A6 e-tron, has finally been introduced. Preparing to take its place among luxury electric cars, this model draws attention with its range of up to 750 km and impressive performance features. Remaining faithful to Audi’s concept design, the A6 e-tron offers users innovations in both aesthetic and technological terms. So, what are the features of the Audi A6 e-tron and what are the details that distinguish it from its competitors?
Audi A6 e-tron design
The design of the Audi A6 e-tron was first introduced as a concept in March 2022, and the production version has remained quite faithful to this design. The thin headlight design and main lights hidden in the lower bumper, which we are familiar with from the Audi Q6 e-tron, are also seen in this model. The large closed grille is a detail we often see in Audi’s electric vehicles.
The A6 e-tron offers two different body types: Avant estate and Sportback. While the Sportback has a sloping roof line in the style of a coupe, both models have 19-inch wheels as standard. While the S Line models come with 20-inch alloy wheels, 21-inch wheels are optionally offered in the S6 e-tron. At the rear, a full-width light bar and illuminated Audi rings attract attention.
Interior and infotainment system
The interior of the Audi A6 e-tron is also inspired by the Q6 e-tron. There are three screens on the instrument panel: an 11.9-inch digital driver display, a 14.5-inch central touchscreen and a 10.9-inch display in front of the passenger. The passenger display is equipped with a privacy filter to prevent distracting the driver. In addition, the augmented reality head-up display (AR HUD) projects speed and navigation information directly onto the road.
While the overall interior design may not be as exciting as the Mercedes EQE, the modern fabrics on the dashboard and ambient lighting liven up the atmosphere. The panoramic glass roof provides light and can be made opaque with a single touch.
Battery and range
The standard and S6 e-tron models of the Audi A6 e-tron come with a 100 kWh battery. This battery is also used in the Q6 e-tron and the new Porsche Macan EV and offers some pretty impressive statistics. The hatchback model offers a range of up to 750 km on a full charge.
This range drops to 719 km in the Estate version, while the S6 model drops to 670 km due to the increased performance. All models are equipped with an 800-volt electrical system that can reach a 10-80 percent charge level in just 20 minutes.
Engine and performance
The standard Audi A6 e-tron is powered by a single rear-wheel drive electric motor that produces 286 horsepower. This motor accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6 seconds. The rear-wheel drive performance model has 367 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds.
For those looking for even faster performance, the Audi S6 e-tron comes with a second motor that also powers the front wheels, producing a total of 503 horsepower. This model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. A full-performance Audi RS6 e-tron is also expected to be launched in the future.
When will it go on sale?
Orders for the new Audi A6 e-tron will open in autumn this year. Although prices have not yet been finalized, the standard model is expected to cost around £70,000 (2,974,247 TL~), while the S6 model is expected to cost around £100,000 (4,248,925 TL~).
The Audi A6 e-tron is set to set new standards in the electric vehicle market. Drawing attention with its range, performance and stylish design, this model aims to offer its users a superior experience both in daily use and on long journeys.
