Fake exhaust pipes, which have been a matter of debate for a long time, are now a thing of the past. Audi announced that it will use real exhaust pipes in all future models, along with the new A5 and S5 models. So, in which models did Audi use fake exhaust before? Details are in our news…
Audi finally stopped using fake exhaust pipes
Audi stated that the feedback from consumers was behind the decision to make this change. Previously, the diesel-powered S4, S6 and SQ5 models were criticized for using completely enclosed fake plastic exhaust pipes and hiding the real exhaust pipes under the rear bumper.
However, it seems that these criticisms will now come to an end. The new A5 and S5 models will feature real, functional exhaust pipes, and this change will be valid for all models based on the PPC (Premium Platform Combustion) platform.
Well what does it mean? All new Audi models, including petrol, diesel and hybrid versions, will now be equipped with real exhaust pipes instead of fake ones. The new vehicles will have a double rectangular or four round exhaust pipe layout, resulting in a sportier appearance.
In addition, it is not yet clear whether the large-sized oval exhaust pipes used in Audi Sport models will be preserved, but this is also a very curious issue. We can now say goodbye to fake exhaust pipes and hello to more realistic and aesthetically pleasing vehicles.
