Volvo and Geely’s electric car initiative Polestar has accelerated its work on its first smartphone. The model, which is expected to be called Polestar Phone, previously appeared on the Google Play Console. Now it has appeared in the IMEI database. What will Polestar Phone offer?
Polestar is working with Meizu for its first phone, Polestar Phone. The new details that emerged showed that the Polestar Phone may not be a completely new phone. The device will be a rebranded version of Meizu’s own flagship, the Meizu 20.
Polestar Phone appeared in IMEI databases and its model number was stated to be M392S. The model number of Meizu 20 attracted attention because it was almost the same as M392Q. This actually shows that the two phones share the same basic features.
The Meizu 20 model, introduced in recent months, has a 6.55-inch OLED screen with FHD + resolution. This screen is supported by a 144 Hz refresh rate. It includes 16 GB RAM and 256 GB / 512 GB storage options.
Polestar Phone is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 produced by Qualcomm. However, it will have some differences on the software side. Instead of Meizu’s Flyme OS interface; It will come with the automaker’s Polestar OS interface.
The resulting leaks revealed that this interface will offer an advanced “super desktop” experience. In other words, it is said that it will support some functions such as extending the phone screen to the vehicle screen. It is unclear when the Polestar Phone will be released.
