Capcom has decided to shut down the multiplayer online game Resident Evil Re:Verse. Initially released as a spin-off to bring a fresh take to the Resident Evil series, the game was launched alongside Resident Evil Village and was available on platforms such as PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. However, as of March 3, 2025, it will be completely removed from digital stores. Here’s more information!

According to Capcom’s statement, the game will officially shut down on June 30, 2025, at 09:59 local time, and its servers will be taken offline. Purchased Premium Pass content and RP Boosters will remain usable until the servers are shut down, but after that, they will no longer be accessible.

Capcom stated that Re:Verse, developed to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Resident Evil series, received more attention than they had anticipated. However, they now believe the game has served its purpose, marking the end of an era for the series.

Originally slated for a simultaneous release with Resident Evil Village, Re:Verse faced multiple delays and was finally launched in October 2022—17 months after the release of Village.

Active for two years, the game featured a 6-player competitive deathmatch mode and included many iconic characters from the Resident Evil universe. However, despite its features, the game couldn’t maintain long-term player interest, leading Capcom to stop supporting it.
