According to the latest news from the industry, Huawei has postponed the launch of its P70 series flagship smartphones. It was announced that the event, which was normally expected to be held in March, was shifted to April.
Huawei P70 series may be delayed by a month
Huawei was rumored to unveil the new P70, P70 Pro and P70 Art models in March. However, sources close to the company’s plans say the launch schedule has been delayed. Although the exact reasons for the delay have not been disclosed, it is thought to be due to internal product strategies. Huawei does not have supply chain issues.
The Huawei P70 series will reportedly come with a significant camera upgrade compared to the previous P60 models. Reports revealed that the phones will be powered by the Kirin 9000 chipset developed by Huawei.
The screen sizes are said to be 6.58 inches and 6.8 inches with a 2.5D curved LTPO panel. Key features include the OV50H or IMX989 50 Megapixel main camera with variable apertures. The device is also expected to have an ultra-wide and periscope telephoto lens.
Recent leaks have revealed that the camera module designs will be in a symmetrical triangle setup. There are also some claims that the P70 could feature satellite communication technology.
Pricing is not yet known, but given that last year’s P60 Art started at $900, the new series is likely to remain in the premium flagship category.
