Battery lasts 11 days: The affordable Garmin Vivoactive 5 released!

Garmin has added a new one to its fitness-oriented smartwatches. The latest product of the Vivoactive family, which is intended to be affordable, is the Vivoactive 5. The smartwatch, which has a new design, brings important innovations such as AMOLED screen at an affordable price point.

Who does Garmin Vivoactive 5 appeal to?

Vivoactive 5 comes with a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with 390×390 resolution and Always On support. This is a significant upgrade over the Vivoactive 4’s display with a resolution of 260px x 260 pixels.

The new smartwatch also lets you respond to messages when paired with an Android phone. In terms of health and fitness tracking, the Vivoactive 5 allows you to track basic information such as steps, heart rate and sleep.

It also brings new features for training, such as High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) support, workout perks and recovery time tracking. Users can also track sugar, heart rate variability and guided meditation sessions.

A new wheelchair mode allows users with physical disabilities to track pushing movements and track specialized workouts. The heart rate sensor has also been upgraded to Garmin’s Gen 4 sensor.

The Vivoactive 5 has a battery life of up to 11 days, compared to 8 days on the Vivoactive 4. Other key features include 5 ATM water resistance, GPS, contactless payment with Garmin Pay, compatibility with iOS/Android phones and an aluminum frame.

Garmin Vivoactive 5 is now available in four color options starting from $299.99.
