Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) is experiencing a major outage for gamers using 5th and 4th generation PlayStation consoles. Due to the outage, players are unable to connect to other Sony gaming platforms, including PlayStation 5 (PS5) and PlayStation 4 (PS4). It is not yet clear when the problem will be resolved.
PSN is down!
Sony’s official PSN Service Status page has confirmed a general access issue covering PS Vita, PS3, PS4, PS5 and web services. According to the latest update, which was posted at 4:21 a.m. Turkey time on October 1, players are having difficulty even launching games, apps and network features. Sony said it was working to resolve the issue and asked users to be patient.
Users trying to launch games are encountering errors such as “PS5 error code WS-116522-7” and are trying to get information about this error on Sony’s website. On the other hand, games that can be played in offline mode continue to run smoothly.
While there is no explanation about the cause of the outage, there is no timeframe for the resolution of the problem. A bug affecting the home screen visuals of PS5 games was recently fixed, but it is thought that this outage is not related to that problem. We will share any new information with you.
