Microsoft is introducing many new features with Moment 3, the next major update for Windows 11

Microsoft introduced the Windows 11 operating system on October 5, 2021. Since then, the operating system that has received many minor and major updates continues to evolve. Microsoft is now preparing to release the third major update for Windows 11.

Windows 11 is getting many new features with the new update

Microsoft is preparing to introduce the next major update for Windows 11, codenamed “Moment 3“. The company had recently made this update available to Windows Insider members. The new update will be available as an optional update for general use on Tuesday, June 13th.

In the past, Microsoft would release one large update once a year. From now on, however, the company will provide smaller updates throughout the year, unlike updates such as Windows 11 version 22H2. Moment 3 comes up as the third step of these updates. Here are the innovations coming with Moment 3:

Copying 2FA codes

This update makes it possible to copy two-factor authentication codes from notifications you receive on your computer. The codes you receive through notifications will now have an option that allows you to copy them quickly, so you can paste them where you need them. You can compare this to the system on our smartphones.

Widget improvements

Microsoft has made some significant adjustments to widgets in this update. The open clipboard now reappears with a three-column layout. The first column is dedicated to Windows items, and the other two are used for news articles supported by Microsoft Start. In addition, users will now be able to pin the items they want to this section.

Seconds are back in the Taskbar clock

Microsoft is finally bringing back a highly demanded feature for Windows 11 with this update. The company, which removed the ability to see time in seconds in the taskbar clock, is now adding this capability back. You can activate this option, which is off by default, through Settings.

The Print Screen key will now open a new window for screenshots

With the new update, when you press the Print Screen key on your keyboard, instead of automatically copying screenshots to the clipboard, Windows 11 will automatically launch the Snipping Tool interface. This window allows you to choose how your screenshot will look and automatically saves your screenshot to your Screenshots folder.
