Bing AI can’t beat Google’s dominance in search after all

Ana sayfa / Internet

Microsoft Bing has been trying to compete with Google for many years. The search engine, which has taken the artificial intelligence wind behind its back since last year, has been on the agenda with its Bing Chat feature for a while. However, recent reports show that users are not giving up on Google.

Why Bing AI chatbot is not a rival to Google?

According to data shared by an analysis firm, Bing’s rise was short-lived. Bing.com’s share of the global search engine market has declined since the introduction of Bing Chat. Bing, which had a 3 percent share in January this year, is currently at 2.9 percent.

The 2.9 percent share shown in July data represents a small increase from Bing’s 2.7 percent share in April. However, the ChatGPT support does not appear to have led to a significant increase in Bing’s overall traffic.

First unveiled by Microsoft in February, Bing Chat was touted as “the future of search”. However, the chat bot does not seem to have convinced users to turn to Bing for web searches. Google holds 92 percent of the market as of July.

Bing Chat represents a major breakthrough in the search world. But experts say adoption of AI search assistants could take time. This shows that Google can shape the search world with artificial intelligence.

On the other hand, Google is also working on artificial intelligence. Last week, the ability to summarize searches with artificial intelligence was introduced for Chrome. With this feature, long news or articles are reduced to a few sentences with artificial intelligence.
