The electric motor with double rotor technology, produced in partnership with BMW and DeepDrive, has reached the testing stage. BMW’s new electric engine, which is seen as revolutionary, will power BMW’s EV models, according to the company’s statements. It seems that BMW is preparing to become Tesla’s worst nightmare.
BMW will now produce more compact vehicles with its new electric engine!
Electric cars, the technology of today and the future, are now included in the product range of all brands. Aiming to go one step further, BMW announced the new electric motor developed in partnership with DeepDrive. The company states that they are working for powerful and super-efficient electric cars and is testing an electric motor with double rotor technology.
According to the statements, companies aiming to achieve high efficiency and torque by combining two electric motors in a single unit stated that for this, the stator moves not only a single rotor, but also two rotors at the same time. BMW stated that the BMW model that will use this engine will have its own electric motor in each wheel hub, and that this will achieve a more compact design and the weight will decrease significantly.
BMW, which will use this engine in its new coupe model, has made the following statement for now:
“In-wheel motors will take up less space. It will be more efficient, lighter and less costly. “This will make them an attractive option for a wide range of vehicle models and are potentially highly scalable.”
Apparently, BMW, which has gone into this production not only to gain more space or lose weight, but also to reduce the cost, will soon introduce its cars powered by electric motors with double rotor technology. Let’s see which BMW model will get its share of this innovation first? What do you think about the engine developed in partnership with BMW and DeepDrive? You can express your ideas in the comments.
