BYD has made an ambitious entry into the premium sedan market with the launch of the Denza Z9 GT. The Z9 GT, which was introduced in China in the past hours, attracts great attention with both plug-in hybrid and fully electric powertrain options. It also combines stylish design with advanced technology.
BYD Denza Z9 GT features
Offering three different plug-in hybrid options, the Z9 GT is priced between 47 and 57 thousand dollars. These models combine a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with an electric motor that produces 640 kW of power in total. BYD states that these versions offer a range of up to 1100 km.
The all-electric versions are priced between 50 and 54 thousand dollars. Producing 710 kW of power with a three-motor setup, these models promise a range of 630 km on a single charge. All Z9 GT models come equipped with BYD’s E3P advanced driver assistance system.
The company’s revamped driver assistance system includes features such as intelligent navigation on highways and proximity parking. BYD also plans to offer a map-less version for city driving early next year.
Designed under the leadership of former Audi design chief Wolfgang Egger, the Z9 GT features a fastback-sedan design. The 5180 mm long sedan offers a wide wheelbase of 3125 mm. Technologies such as the dual-motor rear axle, which provides up to 10 degrees of steering control, improve the driving dynamics of the Z9 GT.
The interior features an LCD instrument cluster, massaging front seats, Devialet sound system and various AI functions. The Z9 GT has the potential to become a major player in the premium sedan market. Of course, it will be exclusive to China at the first stage.
