BYD is preparing to expand its range in the affordable electric car market. In this context, it revealed the series production version of the Ocean-M concept electric hatchback. The first official images of the vehicle, which will be called BYD Seal 06 GT, have been published.

BYD has shared various angles of the Seal 06 GT on Weibo, China’s social media platform. The exterior design retains the sporty and performance-oriented look of the Ocean-M concept. However, it should be noted that it has less sharp lines than the concept.
The Seal 06 GT is expected to make its debut at an auto show in China on August 30. Accordingly, it will be BYD’s first GT model specifically targeting speed-obsessed customers. BYD Ocean President Zhang Zhuo said the model is designed as an electric GT specifically for young consumers.
Powered by BYD’s new generation C2B batteries, the electric car was developed on the company’s special platform. The Ocean-M concept, which first appeared at the Beijing motor show in April, was priced between 21 and 28 thousand dollars. The Seal 06 GT is also expected to be at this level.
Seal 06 GT, which completes the premium feel in the interior with its four-spoke steering wheel design, offers a wide usage area in the interior with its 2920 mm wheelbase. With a total length of 4800 mm and a width of 1875 mm, the vehicle has standard hatchback dimensions.
The official launch will take place in China on August 30th. Accordingly, the engine and design features of the vehicle will also be shared.
