BYD Bao 3, Bao 8 and Super 9 unveiled
BYD’s electric SUV sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has revealed the vehicles that will join the Leopard 5 (or Bao 5) model. Although not a full launch, two new SUVs, the Bao 3 and Bao 8, were heralded. The biggest surprise was the Super 9 electric sports car concept.
The two-seater Super 9 concept was designed by Wolfgang Eggert, former design director of Lamborghini and Audi. The car’s low profile, scissor doors and carbon fiber seats have raised curiosity in the automotive world. It features control knobs inspired by professional racing and a futuristic steering wheel.
Super 9 is designed as a high-performance electric vehicle. BYD said the mass production version, named Bao 9, will be unveiled at the Beijing Motor Show next week. With this vehicle, BYD will expand its portfolio of luxury and performance electric vehicles.
Not much detail was given about the Bao 3 and Bao 8 models. It is possible to say that these models will also be unveiled within the scope of the fair to be held in China. Although they are being developed by the Fang Cheng Bao division, they may be offered to the global market under the BYD brand.
BYD continues its presence in our country with the ATTO 3 SUV model. With 150 kW (204 PS) engine power and 310 Nm torque, it has an impressive performance in acceleration. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds. According to WLTP measurements, it offers a range of 420 km.
