BYD, which has recently been on the agenda with its investment in Turkey, has opened a new page in the automobile market with many models. Reports from China revealed that the 2025 model Song PLUS DM-i electric model will be increased and opened to more markets.
BYD Song PLUS DM-i 2025 is coming
The leaked sales prices for the new Song PLUS DM-i are more expensive than the previous model. Starting at around 20 thousand dollars in China, the refreshed version of the SUV will cost up to 23 thousand dollars. This means that retail prices may increase.
Despite the higher costs, the 2025 BYD Song PLUS DM-i will come with several upgrades. It will use BYD’s 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 74kW of power, a 160kW electric motor and a fifth-generation hybrid system.
The 18.3 or 26.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery packs will remain unchanged. The smaller battery pack is said to provide an electric range of 91 km, while the larger one will provide a range of 128 km. According to BYD, fuel efficiency may drop to 4.95 L/100 km.
The new model is expected to be launched first in the Chinese market and then expand to various European countries. The SUV model with a hybrid engine is likely to be released towards the end of the year.
On the other hand, BYD, which has overtaken Tesla as the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer in terms of sales, aims to produce 150 thousand electric vehicles annually at its factory in Manisa. Moreover, the production volume is planned to increase even more in the future.
