As we get closer to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s October release for PlayStation, Xbox and PC, Activision Blizzard has announced new dates for players to mark on their calendars. The date announcement heralds that players will be able to participate in the multiplayer open beta in September, with Game Pass subscribers and pre-orderers getting access a week early.
When is Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 open beta access?
Black Ops 6’s multiplayer open beta will be available to all players on all platforms starting September 6 at 6:00 p.m. BST/10:00 a.m. PT and running through September 9. During this beta, players will be able to experience the game’s Omnimovement system (the ability to run in all directions), new maps developed by Treyarch, and various team modes. They will also have the opportunity to try out specific weapons, equipment and Perks, as well as loadout creation features.
The early access beta starts a week earlier, on August 30 at 18:00 BST/10:00 PT and runs until September 4. This session will be open to players who pre-ordered the game and Game Pass subscribers. There are no platform exclusives this time around, meaning it will be available on all platforms at the same time.
Activision says that players who pre-ordered the Vault Edition of Black Ops 6 will be able to use the four Operators (Park, Adler, Brutus and Klaus) and five Mastercraft weapons (LR 7.62, Marine SP, Ames 85, Jackal PDW and combat knife) from the Hunter vs. Hunted pack during the beta.
The publisher adds that it will share more information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’s campaign, multiplayer and zombie content “in the coming days and weeks.” For more on this year’s Call of Duty installment, check out Eurogamer’s Chris Tapsell’s interview with Treyarch.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will launch on October 24th for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. The game will also be available from day one as part of a Game Pass subscription. However, due to Microsoft’s recent Game Pass service changes, new subscribers will have to pay more to gain access on launch day.
