Activision stated that it has made progress in detecting malicious players thanks to improved cheat detection systems and security updates. Accordingly, tens of thousands of Call of Duty players who cheated were banned.
Activision bans more than 27,000 Call of Duty players for cheating
Activision announced late last week that it had banned more than 27,000 Call of Duty accounts. This wave of bans comes on the heels of the release of Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3, and the release of the free version from April 4-8.
“TeamRICOCHET” identified and banned more than 27,000 accounts using a series of updated cheat detection systems. The company said that they will continue to build on this success with more security updates and that there will be similar waves of bans in the future.
Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 3 include six new 6v6 multiplayer maps. Four of these maps are available at launch, with two more to come as the season progresses. With the return of the Rebirth Island map and the reactivation of Resurgence mode, players flocked to this free weekend. And so did cheaters.
Zombie mode was also enriched with new content. A new story mission, a fresh Dark Aether Rift, and a new Warlord, the artillery and destruction specialist Rainmaker.
To end our coverage, a Modern Warfare 3 data miner has discovered a multiplayer map called “Get High”. Instead of being a typical Call of Duty multiplayer map, this map appears to offer a parkour-based gameplay experience. Players race each other to reach the tops of structures.
