OpenAI is working on a revamped version of the ChatGPT model according to recent claims. The new model, called ChatGPT-5, will be released this fall. The update is said to focus on mathematics and programming.
ChatGPT-5 may be introduced in the fall
Launched earlier this year, the ChatGPT-4 made waves with its advanced sensing and problem-solving capabilities. The GPT-4o version announced for the model was both much faster and smarter. However, its incorrect answers to basic math questions aroused curiosity.
It seems that OpenAI will address this weakness with ChatGPT-5. Sources said that the new version will have advanced mathematical and computational capabilities. This means that users will be able to ask complex math problems and programming questions.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman hinted about a new project called ‘Strawberry’ in August. While details are still unclear, many believe this refers to ChatGPT-5. Barring any delays, we could see much more advanced AI by the fall.
One of the biggest innovations of the GPT-4o was its live talk feature. This model had the ability to work voice-to-voice. Instead of transcribing the speech first, it can listen directly to the voice. One of the features of the new ChatGPT is local vision capabilities. This means the ability to “see” through the camera on your phone.
No release date has yet been given for GPT-5, but it is expected to be released in the coming months. What do you think? Please don’t forget to share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
