The buzz around ChatGPT has been growing since its release. Known for its attentive responses to user questions, ChatGPT has captured the attention of both the technology and software communities. Major tech companies like Microsoft have already adopted ChatGPT into their applications to streamline user interactions. Unity, one of the most the popular game engine, has joined the list of platforms embracing ChatGPT.
Unity welcomes ChatGPT
Software developer Keijiro Takahashi has successfully incorporated ChatGPT into Unity. Through a panel inside the editor, users can command the AI to create scenes, models, and even write code. In a video shared by Takahashi, ChatGPT creates 100 randomly positioned cubes, moves them around, and changes their directions. Additionally, the AI can generate a ground plane and introduce lighting to the scene.
Takahashi mentioned that ChatGPT occasionally struggles to execute commands accurately. To achieve desired results, users may need to issue the same command multiple times.
The Unity Editor template featuring ChatGPT integration is available on GitHub, providing instructions for other developers to benefit from the AI. You can access the GitHub page by clicking here.
ChatGPT makes an appearance in Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Another developer has recently crafted a mod that integrates ChatGPT into the popular game Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord. This mod enhances in-game interactions with non-player characters (NPCs), enabling more dynamic conversations.
As ChatGPT continues to make waves in the gaming industry, we can expect further integration and innovation in the coming years. What are your thoughts on this development? Share your opinions in the comments section below.
