ChatGPT shows users other people’s chat histories

Ana sayfa / News

The downed ChatGPT showed users other people’s chat histories. There was serious criticism of the platform in this regard. ChatGPT, developed by OpenAI, made its mark at the end of 2022 and still continues to make serious noise. What brought the advanced artificial intelligence system to the agenda today was one of the rare bad situations.

ChatGPT down for a short time

As we mentioned above, the system became unusable for a while yesterday. Just then, users who opened the site saw other people’s chat histories. The details of these chat histories could not be seen, but as shown in the Tweet below, the headings were clearly revealed. This, of course, caused quite a reaction because it was a serious violation of privacy.

People are aware that their chats with ChatGPT can be seen by others. After all, there are people behind these systems and they use these conversations to develop the “GPT” language model on which artificial intelligence is built. But the fact that even a small part of the conversations were seen by normal users, not developers, certainly didn’t go down well.

Tech companies worry about their important information being logged on GPT servers

ChatGPT is seen by many as the system that will kill Google, as it is breathtaking what it can do on the basis of artificial intelligence. ChatGPT is causing some concerns in many companies, including Amazon. The biggest concern here is the data shared with the system. Many software developers share the codes they work on with GPT. In this way, they can both easily see certain errors and speed up the development process.

This situation gathers reactions among many technology companies because key codes/information go to GPT’s servers. Amazon lawyers, who issued a warning on this issue, want employees not to share confidential information and code with the artificial intelligence-based chatbot. In this regard, employees are told the following:

“This is important because your input may be used as training data for the next version of ChatGPT. We don’t want the output of GPT to contain our confidential information or present similar results.” The company’s lawyers, who say they have already started to see some “similar” examples, seem to be right about this. Because GPT really analyzes the operations performed within it in order to be better in the future.
