China develops stealth drone! Here’s the design

Ana sayfa / News

Images of a new stealth unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) allegedly belonging to China have leaked onto social media. Low-resolution photos show that this massive, flying-wing-designed aircraft is similar in size to the legendary US B-2 “Spirit” bomber. This development has raised new questions about China’s secret air power program.

The images show the aircraft with its landing gear extended and its tail fins detached. There is no definitive information regarding its identity or capabilities. Some experts suggest it could be the previously unveiled CH-7 UAV, although design differences weaken this possibility.

A more compelling claim is that the aircraft is a new model, designated “WZ-X,” first spotted via satellite imagery at China’s Malan test base in Xinjiang. The resemblance of the base’s hangars to the shelters used by the US for B-2s supports this claim.

If the aircraft is indeed the WZ-X, its wingspan is estimated to be approximately 52 meters. This size makes it nearly the same size as the B-2. Furthermore, its truncated wingtips are reminiscent of the US’s next-generation B-21 Raider design.

The lack of a cockpit in the images suggests that the vehicle could be a UAV developed for high-altitude, long-endurance missions. Such a platform could be used for intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, and long-range strike missions by bypassing enemy air defenses.

Analysts indicate that the leak of the images ahead of China’s military parade on September 3rd may have been a planned move. It is believed that this leak could be part of China’s strategy to showcase its military might and attract attention.
