China has stepped up its space exploration efforts, as evidenced by recent reports. The country’s Aerospace and Technology company has already successfully launched three rockets into space in 2024. Additionally, there are discussions about the company introducing reusable rockets starting from next year. If these claims are true, it could potentially reshuffle the cards in international space research. The Chinese public has also enthusiastically welcomed these developments. Here are all the details…
China Accelerates Space Research
In a statement, the company’s R&D manager, Wang Wei, claimed that they have made significant progress in reusable rocket technology thanks to the substantial support from the government. Wei mentioned that one of the rockets will have a diameter of up to 4 meters, while another prepared rocket will have a diameter of 5 meters. In comparison, SpaceX’s Falcon rockets have a diameter of only 3.7 meters. This highlights the advancements China has made in space technology.
While rocket diameter is crucial, there are other factors determining rocket power. In this regard, China’s full technological capabilities are not yet fully known. The country aims to minimize investment costs by achieving success in reusable rockets. The Aerospace and Technology company has recently announced plans to send as many as 100 rockets into space in 2024.
