Chinese people found a cure for radiation

Ana sayfa / News

Researchers at the Guangzhou Biomedical and Health Institute in China have developed a new treatment that could provide protection against radiation. According to a study published in Cell Death and Differentiation, it was discovered that disabling a specific protein could significantly increase the body’s resistance to radiation. Here are the details…

The research team identified that blocking a protein called Sting (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) could significantly reduce radiation-induced damage. In experiments, mice with this protein disabled showed a survival rate increase from 11% to 67%.

Additionally, the cell death in the intestinal tissue of irradiated mice decreased from 45% to 12%, and the intestinal villus density increased by 2.3 times. This discovery is so important that it is said it could reduce the side effects that cancer patients experience during radiotherapy. While radiotherapy targets tumors, it can also damage surrounding healthy tissues. The new treatment method could make healthy cells more resistant to radiation damage, offering a solution to this problem.

A first from Amazon! Took the lead

Walmart, which has been at the top for years, fell behind Amazon for the first time in terms of quarterly revenue. Here are the details...

Furthermore, the treatment has great potential for protecting people in emergencies like nuclear accidents and radioactive leaks. Considering past tragedies like Hiroshima, Nagasaki, and Chernobyl, where thousands of people died or developed cancers due to radiation, such a treatment method is of significant importance.

What do you think about this? How effective could such a solution be for patients undergoing radiotherapy? You can share your thoughts in the comments section below…
