Chinese Xpeng unveils new car display!

Ana sayfa / Cars

Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Xpeng has introduced an eye-catching new technology with its latest SUV model, the G7. The system, called the “Light-Chasing Panoramic Display,” offers a massive display area that covers nearly the entire front windshield — a major departure from traditional head-up displays. Co-developed with Huawei, the technology delivers an augmented reality-focused driving experience.

The new system was unveiled during a media event held in China. The display area is equivalent to an ultra-wide 87-inch screen, with a 1,800:1 contrast ratio that ensures high image quality. The system does more than show vehicle speed or music information; it overlays layered graphics directly onto the road view, projecting navigation and environmental data within the driver’s line of sight.

Xpeng’s HUD technology is technically similar to augmented reality systems used in luxury models such as the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. However, Xpeng aims to bring this system to a more accessible price segment. The starting price for the G7 model in China is expected to be around 250,000 yuan (approximately $34,800).

The release date for the Xpeng G7 and its new display system in the Chinese market has not yet been confirmed. However, following the promotional events, expectations are leaning toward a near-future launch.
