Chucky, one of the most well-known series in the world of horror, managed to gain great acclaim as a series. However, the developer studio announced that the Chucky series was canceled after three seasons.
Chucky series says goodbye after season 3
The popular horror series Chucky is saying goodbye after three seasons. The executive producer of the series, Don Mancini, made a statement saying that Chucky can no longer continue.
Adapted from the Child’s Play horror movie series, Chucky followed the story of Chucky, a baby who adventures in a new location each season. In season 1, Chucky terrorized a small town, while season 2’s main location was a military school. Season 3 became even more exciting when Chucky took over the White House.
Despite rising viewership figures and overwhelming support through campaigns such as “#RenewChucky”, broadcast channels did not allocate a budget for a fourth season. In the US, the series is currently airing on Syfy, but the platform has said it will give space to lower-budget projects.
Mancini, the show’s executive producer, thanked Syfy and the cast in a statement. He also said, “Chucky will be back. He always comes back.” He did not forget to excite the viewers with his words.
Although the broadcaster’s decision is upsetting for viewers, Mancini’s words show that the character will be back for a long time. Mancini, the screenwriter and director of Child’s Play, said he wants to continue Chucky as a movie or series.
