The disruption to services at Cloudflare, the infrastructure provider that manages a significant portion of global internet traffic, has sparked a wave of frustration and anger among users worldwide. Thousands of complaints were shared on the platform X (formerly Twitter). Numerous websites and services, including popular sites like Canva and Downdetector, experienced access issues.
Second Outage in a Month
This situation has raised concerns because it was the company’s second major outage in a month. The previous outage, in November, temporarily affected a wide range of online services, from Spotify to ChatGPT. (It was later confirmed that November’s outage was caused by an internal configuration error and not a cyberattack.)
Millions of users took over social media, reporting widespread service disruptions and expressing their anger over the repeated outages. Many shared how their businesses and businesses were negatively impacted, demanding urgent responses from the company and calling for immediate resolution of the problems.
Among the platforms affected by the outage, business applications like Canva and even Downdetector, a site used to track service outages, experienced problems, highlighting the extent of the disruption.
Cloudflare has reportedly not yet issued an official statement regarding the cause of this latest outage.
