Google’s AI entrusted to Sergey Brin

Google co-founder Sergey Brin has increased his involvement in the company’s AI efforts in recent months, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal. Brin is reportedly visiting Google’s offices three to four days a week and working with the team behind Gemini, a next-generation AI model.

The Gemini project, which was recently unveiled, will offer a ChatGPT-like experience and focus on message creation. It was said that the AI will create articles by looking at “recent developments” and analyzing events. The Google co-founder also reportedly played a key role in the hiring process for the project.

Sergey Brin is also said to have encouraged Google to invest more in AI research and development. Google is competing with many technology companies lately. Microsoft, Amazon and Meta are investing heavily in artificial intelligence, and Google is counting on its former executive in this area.

Sergey Brin, who co-founded Google with Larry Page in 1998, announced that he has been actively interested in artificial intelligence for the past few years. He made statements about the potential of AI to revolutionize many sectors, but he was particularly interested in “using it for social good”.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai reportedly supported the co-founder’s involvement in Gemini. Brin is said to believe that his experience will be valuable to Google as it continues to invest in the space.
