CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has shifted its focus to the The Witcher 4 project, codenamed “Polaris,” after completing the development and maintenance of Cyberpunk 2077. This new project will be the first game in the series developed using Unreal Engine 5, with over 400 people currently working on it.

The Witcher 4 is being developed with Unreal Engine 5, which has raised concerns among some fans due to known freezing and performance issues. However, CDPR aims to address these problems by collaborating with Epic Games to improve the engine and eliminate these freezing issues. These enhancements will benefit not only The Witcher 4 but also all games using Unreal Engine 5.

Digital Foundry has noted that if there is a team capable of solving Unreal Engine 5’s freezing issues, it is CDPR. The CDPR team acknowledges these issues and is working hard with Epic to minimize them.
