Continuing its efforts to increase its market share in the smartphone industry, OnePlus is gearing up for a critical month of January. The Chinese brand has unveiled the Ace 3 model and is counting down to the release of the 12 and 12R models in the coming days. Set to be unveiled on January 23, the OnePlus 12R with the model number CPH2611 has made its place in the FCC database ahead of the launch. The listing reveals some technical details, such as the smartphone running on the Android 14-based OxygenOS V14.0 interface and being powered by a 5,500 mAh battery.
As is common among Chinese brands, rebranding is prevalent. In this regard, it is said that the OnePlus 12R will be a rebranded global version of the recently introduced Ace 3. Although the names and designs of the smartphones may differ, they will fundamentally share the same technical specifications. Nevertheless, there are indications of some technical differences, especially in the camera department.
The model will feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the panel will offer a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
The smartphone will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The chipset, manufactured with a 4nm architecture, houses 1x 3.36 GHz ARM Cortex-X3, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A710, 2x 2.8 GHz ARM Cortex-A715, and 3x 2.0 GHz ARM Cortex-A510 cores, along with an Adreno graphics unit.
On the back, a triple camera setup consisting of a 50-megapixel OIS-supported IMX890 main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor will be featured. On the front, there will be a 16-megapixel selfie camera.
