Sega has stepped up its efforts to bring back the legend of Crazy Taxi. The game giant announced that the taxi driving series will return as an open world MMO. What does Crazy Taxi, which will be much more advanced than the original, promise?

Crazy Taxi is getting its first major game in over 15 years. In this context, Sega will ditch the game’s overhead camera and adopt an open-world design. The developer said it will feature an energetic map of California with photorealistic visuals and vibrant colors.
In addition to the open world, there will be multiplayer elements for the first time in the series. Sega said Crazy Taxi will combine high-speed driving dynamics with multiplayer mechanics. In this context, it said it will experiment with online and MMO features.
The company said that multiplayer modes will include police versus taxi scenarios. This will allow players to chase each other.
There are no details on which platform the revamped taxi adventure will be released on or when it will be available. It remains to be seen what the series, which has been shelved since 2002’s Crazy Taxi 3: High Roller, has to offer.
At The Game Awards, Sega announced that it will revive classic series such as Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. It is possible to say that Crazy Taxi stands out among these productions.
