YouTube is testing Google Gemini integration to assist content creators with video ideas, titles, and thumbnails. The announcement of the new “Brainstorm with Gemini” feature was made through a video on the Creator Insider channel. What does this AI feature do?
YouTube Tests “Brainstorm with Gemini” Feature for Content Creators
A YouTube spokesperson revealed that the Google Gemini feature is being offered to a select group of content creators as part of a small, limited trial. YouTube will consider feedback from these creators before making the feature more widely available.
The AI tool provided by Google Gemini could offer YouTube content creators an advantage over other social media video platforms they frequently use. It also appears to be a strategic move to encourage the use of Google’s AI tools. The “Brainstorm with Gemini” feature resembles the AI-powered content inspiration tool tested in May, which suggested video topics that engaged viewers. However, this time, content creators will have the option to use Gemini integration with Google’s large language models.
Creators participating in the Google Gemini trial will see two options when they enter a video idea into the search bar in YouTube Studio: the inspiration tool and the “Brainstorm with Gemini” feature. YouTube wants to understand which tool creators prefer and which one proves to be more useful.
While platforms like TikTok and Instagram focus on using AI to enable creators to generate digital versions of themselves, YouTube is applying this technology to assist creators in their content creation process.
