The Counter-Strike series, which started in the year 2000, continues its legacy with CS2, currently in beta and soon to be available to all players. However, Valve seems to be causing frustration among players with the update for the new game.
With CS2, the competitive match count in CS:GO will no longer be 16!
Counter-Strike 2, or simply CS2, was officially announced a few months ago following exciting leaks that intrigued players, revealing significant changes including graphics and physics.
Today, it has come to light that one of these changes involves the competitive matchmaking system. In fact, the source code of a recent update for CS2 indicates that the number of rounds in competitive games has been reduced from 16 to 13.
This means that, similar to VALORANT, the first team to win 13 rounds will now conclude the game as the victor. It’s safe to say that this alteration hasn’t been warmly received by players, given that the match count has remained consistent for decades.
Valve has yet to officially announce this change. The company is expected to make a statement on this matter soon. However, it’s evident that this adjustment will provoke a reaction from Counter-Strike players.
Critical bug discovered on the Italy map!
A Twitch streamer stumbled upon a game-breaking bug on Italy, one of the most recognizable maps in Counter-Strike. The user managed to climb to the top of a building in the spawn area of terrorists on the revamped map in CS2.
From this vantage point, they had a line of sight all the way to the spawn area of counter-terrorists. The streamer even shared this bug openly on Twitter, tagging a Valve developer.
An update for CS:GO is set to be released on Steam, making Counter-Strike 2 accessible to certain players. The full release for everyone is expected soon, although there’s no exact date. It could happen as soon as tomorrow, or even within the next few hours.
