CD Projekt Red has announced that Cyberpunk 2077 will be available to play for free on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S through next weekend. Starting Thursday, March 28th, the event will run through Monday, April 1st. Anyone with a next-gen console will be able to play Cyberpunk 2077.
Cyberpunk 2077 will be free to try this weekend
Subscriptions such as PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass will not be required to access the free trial. However, total playtime is limited to just 5 hours during the trial period. This means players won’t have the chance to try the full story over the weekend.
CD Projekt Red wants to show players the revamped Night City as part of the free weekend campaign. The game, which was first released in 2020 and struggled with major problems, has been reborn with major updates.
Major updates have fixed stability issues and added new features like the metro fast-travel system. Last year also saw the release of the Phantom Liberty expansion starring Idris Elba.
Those who haven’t yet experienced Cyberpunk 2077 or want to return to Night City can test the game from March 28 to April 1. It’s important to note that this trial is limited to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
On the other hand, Cyberpunk 2077 will become paid again as of April 1. After completing the 5-hour trial, you can purchase the game and continue the story from where you left off.
