The inspiration for Dafne Keen’s return in Deadpool 3
Dafne Keen returns as Wolverine’s clone daughter Laura/X-23 in Deadpool 3. Keen has managed to keep this comeback under wraps and revealed that she was inspired by Andrew Garfield’s performance in Spider-Man: No Way Home, explaining that she was inspired by Andrew Garfield’s performance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. “All the inspiration comes from Andrew Garfield,” Keen said, emphasizing that Garfield is a master at this.
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine ended in Logan, but he returns in this new movie as a different variant. However, Keen said that the character of Laura is the same and now she’s back as a young adult.
Keen said it was a great experience to come back with Laura all grown up. “I understand more parental anger now and I bring that to her table. In Logan, Laura had found a father figure and lost him.
When we find her again, she really knows how important her father is and she cherishes him with that wisdom,” Keen said, also touching on the emotional depths of the character.
However, stating that Laura has not stopped fighting even though she is older, Keen said, “Laura is still physical and fierce. When I found her again, she was already in it. The first thing I did for Deadpool was stunt training. When I put on the costume, I was like, ‘Oh! She’s back,’” he said.
