Tscherning, one of Denmark’s largest construction companies, announced that it has returned all Tesla vehicles in its fleet. The company explained that this decision was not due to the technical features or performance of the vehicles; it was directly due to Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s political stance.
The Danish company returned its entire Tesla fleet
In a statement made by Tscherning, it was stated that “We decide not only how we drive, but also with whom we drive. That is why we have chosen to hand over the keys to our Tesla company vehicles.”
The company management announced that they no longer wanted to be identified with the values represented by Tesla and that they would turn to European-based electric vehicles. Last year, Germany-based cosmetics and pharmacy chain Rossmann announced that it was selling off its Tesla fleet for similar reasons.
Many large institutions across Europe have updated their vehicle fleets with electric models in line with their environmental transformation goals. Tesla, on the other hand, has long been a pioneer in this field. However, Musk’s political statements reflected in the public recently have begun to change the attitude of corporate buyers.
In particular, Elon Musk’s open support for Donald Trump in the US and far-right political movements in Europe at the end of 2024 is negatively affecting Tesla’s corporate image in the European market. This stance is reflected in the preferences of companies as well as individual customers.
