Ana sayfa / News

The news that Days Gone 2 fans have been eagerly waiting for has finally arrived, but unfortunately not as expected. Bend Studio announced that Days Gone 2 will not be made and fans should not get their hopes up. The studio stated that it is currently working on a new IP.

Bend Studio’s community manager Kevin McAllister has ended speculation about Days Gone 2 and apologized for fans being subjected to misleading information. McAllister said, “I apologize to our Days Gone community for the constant false hopes and bad information given out by people looking for acclaim. This is unfair to you. We are currently working on a new IP and when we have real news to share, it will come from our studio.”

Days Gone was seen as one of Sony’s key single-player titles. Although the game’s director claimed that its sales were as good as Ghost of Tsushima, it was labeled a disappointment by management. Despite being positively reviewed by critics, it didn’t receive as glowing a reception as Sony’s other first-party titles. Still, it won some fans with its PC release and there were those waiting for the sequel.

Regarding Days Gone 2, the game’s writer John Garvin had stated that the game was originally planned as a trilogy. However, McAllister emphasized that such titles originated from former developers and put the studio in a difficult situation. “All of these titles come from previous developers and it puts us in a difficult position. There are people looking for likes. It’s time to move on,” he said.

Bend Studio has not yet shared any details about the new IP they are currently working on. In 2021 they started hiring for new positions, and in 2022 it was stated that this new IP features the open-world systems of Days Gone, but set in an entirely new world. However, there’s no word yet on when we might see this new project or when it’s coming out.

Ranked mode coming to Ubisoft’s Call of Duty rival!

XDefiant is bringing new ranked mode and progression changes based on player feedback. Here are the details!

For now, McAllister’s message is clear: Don’t get your hopes up for Days Gone 2. Bend Studio is working on an exciting new IP, and the real news on this project will be shared when it comes from the studio. Days Gone fans should be patient in the meantime and wait eagerly for the studio’s new project.

As a result, Days Gone 2 is all but confirmed and more information about Bend Studio’s new projects is expected. Fans should beware of misleading information in this process and follow the official announcements.
