After a brief return as Superman in Black Adam, legendary actor Henry Cavill is once again making his way back into the comic book world! It seems Warner Bros. didn’t treat the Man of Steel and Justice League star too well, as the British actor has reportedly entered talks to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Which Marvel character will Henry Cavill portray?
According to recent reports, Henry Cavill has entered discussions for a role in the MCU. However, it’s still unclear which comic book hero he might bring to life. It’s speculated that Cavill could portray a character we haven’t seen much of on the big screen before, someone more obscure.
Rumors have been swirling for years about Cavill potentially joining the MCU. In fact, shortly after his brief return as Superman in late 2022, there were claims that he would appear as Hyperion in the second season of Loki.
After his fallout with James Gunn and being let go from the Superman role, which will now be played by David Corenswet in the upcoming Superman movie, Cavill has reportedly started meetings with Marvel. It’s suggested that the accomplished actor might continue his journey within the MCU.
Back in early 2021, after stepping away from Superman, The Witcher star shared which Marvel character he would love to portray.
“I would never say a Marvel character is already taken by someone else because everyone’s doing such a fantastic job,” Cavill said, adding, “But I have the internet, and I’ve read various rumors about Captain Britain. It would be a lot of fun to do a modern version of that character, just like they modernized Captain America.”
