Google, adopting the Material UI design approach with Android 14, continues to make significant changes to its applications. According to 9to5Google’s report, the Google Play Books app will be presented to users with a new icon.
Google Play Books is making headlines with its new icon and tablet design
The company will introduce a new icon with the version 2023.5.30.0.1 of the application. In the previous version of the icon, there was a light blue book with a triangular background.
The company aims to present a more minimalist design by removing the book from the new icon. The bookmark that was protruding from the book in the previous icon will appear as if it is extending beyond the triangle in the new design. It’s worth mentioning that the corners in the new icon are more rounded.
In addition to the icon, Google has introduced some design changes in the tablet view of the Play Books app. The bottom bar in the tablet design has been replaced with a “navigation bar” on the left side of the screen.
The company announced that the Android 13 QPR beta updates will end in March 2023, followed by the start of the Android 14 beta process. Google has started rolling out some of the innovations showcased during last month’s I/O 2023 through Android 14 Beta 3.
Currently, Android 14 Beta 3 offers nine different clock designs for the lock screen, with seven of them having various font options. This allows users to choose different lock screen interfaces according to their preferences.
